ICE SKATE GUERNSEY FULL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Participating in ice skating carries an inherent risk of injury, by attending and or purchasing a ticket, you acknowledge this and agree to participate at your own risk. If you or anyone under your supervision has any medical conditions, serious previous injuries, recently broken bones, knee or joint problems, head injuries or mobility problems, are taking prescribed drugs or are pregnant, you should carefully consider whether it is safe to participate without endangering yourself or anyone under your supervision or other participants whilst skating. In skating, you agree that you are responsible for your own safety and the safety of any children under the age of 14 that you are supervising.

  • Skate aids are limited and are only available to rent on a first come, first served basis from the Skate Exchange a maximum of 30 minutes prior to the start of your session.  If skate aids are sold out and none are available for your session and you then choose not to skate, there will be no refunds due and there is no obligation for us to transfer your ticket to another session.  Skate aids are designed for users of 8 years and under.  They are not toys but are designed to assist beginners to find their feet on the ice.   Misuse of the skate aids may result in the skate aid being removed from the user.      

  • Entry to Le Friquet Centre is free; however you must produce or purchase a valid ticket to gain entry to the ice rink.  Other attractions at the event may attract other charges.

  • All ticket sales are final. No refunds, cancellations or exchanges are available after tickets have been purchased. We are not liable for any consequential losses or reduction in session time caused by, but not limited to: travel, car parking, queues, personal circumstances etc.

  • No refund will be made unless our management have found it necessary to close the rink due to health and safety or technical concerns. No refund will be given if participants do not skate for the full session. No refunds will be given due to bad weather unless such weather causes the closure of the rink.

  •  It is your responsibility to check your tickets are correct and to ascertain the date and the time of your access to ice rink. You should arrive at least 10 minutes before the start time as stated on the tickets.  During busy periods you may be asked to wait outside of the Skate Exchange to allow the skaters from the session in progress the space to change from their skates and to collect their shoes.  Please follow the instructions from the rink crew.

  • The duration of a session is 45 minutes.  If you arrive late for your booked session you will not receive a full 45 minutes and your session will expire at the allocated time. No refunds will be given for late arrival (for whatever reason) resulting in not receiving a full skating session.

  • We are not responsible or liable for any tickets that are damaged, lost or stolen.

  • No child aged 11 or under will be admitted to the Ice Rink unless they are accompanied by a person aged 16 years or over (“Supervisor”) and such child or children must remain under the control or supervision of the Supervisor at all times.  There must be minimum of one Supervisor supervising a maximum of three children under the age of 11.  All permitted children and Supervisors accessing the Ice Rink must have a valid ticket.  The use of a skate aid is not a substitute for adult supervision. We reserve the right to remove any individual from the session who is not behaving in a safe manner as described.

  •  Children under 14 must be supervised at all times whilst at the Event.

  •  Anyone using the ice rink must comply with the rules on display at all times, unless directed by the rink crew to do otherwise.  We reserve the right to remove any skater not abiding by the rules.

  •  Alcohol is not permitted to be taken on to the ice or into the skate exchange. We reserve the right to confiscate any alcohol. Use of illegal substances is also prohibited.

  • Mobile phones are not permitted to be used on the ice.  Many phones have glass screens and if they are dropped, these can shatter meaning that glass will get on the ice.  Skating may have to be suspended to allow the ice to be properly inspected and cleaned of any glass. 

  • Dogs are not permitted in the skate exchange at any time.  This is for the safety of the dog - paws and sharp skate blades do not go together. 

  • Smoking is not permitted on the ice, in the skate exchange or in the areas surrounding the ice rink.  The nearest smoking area is outside of the main entrance to the garden centre or in the car park.

  • The rink will operate in all weather conditions. However in the unlikely event that we deem it necessary to close the rink or restrict access to the gardens, we reserve the right at our discretion to offer either a refund or offer alternative sessions for skating, subject to availability.  

  • The ice surface may be wet at times.  This is caused by environmental factors such as wind speed, direction and ambient temperatures. A wet surface is not unsafe and the sessions will continue throughout.  Refunds will not be given if you choose not to skate or to stop skating due to the surface conditions.

  • If we have to clear the ice rink for any reason, no refund/alternative session will be given if you have been on the ice for over 30 minutes.

  • Please bring suitable outdoor clothing, the event is held outdoors and subject to the above no refunds will be given due to inclement weather.

  • We retain the right to close or change the timetable or attractions and/or the events operating hours without prior notice and without refund or compensation. We in our absolute discretion reserve the right at any time, without refund or compensation to close any part of the Event or restrict the number of persons having access to the Event due to capacity, inclement weather, or special events to ensure safety, security or order, or if we consider the circumstances so require.

  • If you need to leave the rink and skate exchange during your session, skates must be removed and returned to the skate exchange.  You should notify the exchange crew if you intend to return and continue skating.   

  • All attractions, amusements, restaurants and other facilities must be used in accordance with the operator’s instructions.

  • We accept no responsibility for any loss or damage however arising.  Use of the ice rink and attendance in the centre is entirely at your own risk.  Furthermore, we are not responsible for any injuries to visitors, however caused, save where any death or injury is caused by the proven negligence of us, our staff or our servants or otherwise cannot be excluded by law.

  • Unless prohibited from limiting our liability by law, neither we nor any other party shall have any liability to you beyond the face value of the ticket.

  • All other belongings must be stored safely; clear of any walk way.  Where we, in our reasonable opinion, deem that belongings are not safely stored we reserve the right to remove such belongings from the ice rink.

  • Storage facilities at the ice rink are limited, and we reserve the right to refuse admission if, in our reasonable opinion you attempt to bring bulky items into the Skate Exchange.

  • Ice Skate Guernsey and our parent companies: The Guernsey Event Company Limited & Blue Diamond Group Limited do not accept any responsibility for your personal property, so please take care of your belongings.  Any items brought to or left at the Skate Exchange are done so entirely at your own risk.

  • If the Event and/or any attractions are cancelled in their entirety, we will use our reasonable endeavours to notify you as soon as possible (including notifying you of the details of any re-scheduled dates and operating hours the event and/or attraction will be open).  If you have already purchased a ticket for a cancelled attraction, we reserve the right, at our discretion, to offer either a refund or reschedule your booking to an alternative date/time (subject to availability). Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase other than in accordance with this clause. We shall not be liable for consequential losses, including but not limited to travel and car parking.  Refunds or any other type of compensation will not be available for disruption to or cancellation of the event or any ride or attraction within the event resulting from occurrences beyond the operators of the relevant attractions or our control.

  • In order to facilitate the security, safety and comfort of all patrons, we a reserve the right in our reasonable discretion to conduct security searches of persons, clothing, bags and all other items on entry and exit, to confiscate items which may cause danger or disruption to the event or other patrons or are in breach of these terms and/or to refuse admission.  Where we refuse admission under this clause you will not be entitled to any refund on your ticket/s.

  • You may be ejected from the event and asked to leave the premises if, in our reasonable opinion, you are a risk to the safety of any patron and/or may affect the enjoyment of other patrons and/or the running of the event or may cause damage, nuisance or injury. Examples include being (or appearing to be) drunk, incapable, intoxicated or under the influence of illegal drugs, under-age (where relevant), abusive, threatening, behaving anti-socially, carrying offensive weapons or illegal substances, declining to be searched or in breach of any of these Terms or the terms and conditions of Le Friquet Garden Centre.

  •  CCTV and cameras (including TV) may be present at the event. By purchasing a ticket to the event and/or attending Le Friquet Garden Centre you give your express consent to all such filming and to your actual or simulated likeness being included within any film, photograph, audio and/or audiovisual recording (“footage”), all rights in which will be owned by us. You also agree that any such footage may be used by us in any and all media for any purpose at any time throughout the world, including (with the exception of CCTV or security footage) for commercial purposes.  

  • Photography and filming on site is only allowed for personal use. Commercial or editorial photography is prohibited without prior written permission from us.

  • In the case of any problems at the event contact a rink supervisor or manager immediately, as it may not be possible to resolve issues after the event.

  • In the event of an emergency, visitors must follow instructions and directions from the marshals, rink and centre staff and/or other officials.

  • We reserve the right to change these terms and. Your continued use of this website and attendance to the event after changes are posted means you agree to be legally bound by these terms as updated and/or amended.  It is your responsibility to check the terms before entering the event, so that you are aware of any changes.

  • If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the invalid or unenforceable provision shall be severed or amended in such a manner as to render the rest of the provision(s) and remainder of these terms valid and enforceable.

  • These terms shall be governed by Guernsey Law and we both agree to subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Guernsey.

  • As long as you are involved with, participate in any of the events planned, organised and executed by Ice Skate Guernsey or until such time that you either unsubscribe from one of our emailing lists or expressly state that you no longer wish to receive information from us.

  • As long as ordered, in a bid to; resolve disputes, prevent fraud/abuse, enforce terms and conditions

If you receive an email claiming to be from Ice Skate Guernsey asking you to do so, please do not respond then get in touch with us, as this will help us to protect everyone in the future.
